HARTFORD, Conn. — Samples of mosquitoes that have tested positive for West Nile virus have been detected in 21 Connecticut towns, as of the first week of August, according to state researchers.
A total of 48 mosquitoes have been captured and have tested positive for WNV, as of Monday, according to the Connecticut Agricultural Experiment Station (CAES)
No human cases of West Nile virus have been reported at this time.
The mosquitoes carrying WNV were found in the following cities and towns :
Bethel
Bridgeport
Cheshire
Danbury
Darien
East Haven
Easton
Fairfield
Glastonbury
Greenwich
Groton
Hamden
Hartford
Hebron
Manchester
New Haven
North Branford
Stamford
Stratford
Wallingford
Wethersfield
Bridgeport's three trapping stations have captured 11 mosquitoes carry
