Named after former TCU Horned Frog and Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Robert David O'Brien, the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award is the nation's oldest and most prestigious annual quarterback award.
The award honors the best quarterback in all of college football.
Allar, who is coming into his senior year and fourth season with the Nittany Lions, is one of the few college quarterbacks to make the watch list.
The Medina, Ohio native was also named to the Maxwell Award and Walter Camp Player of the Year watch lists, was an All-Big Ten honorable mention selection by the coaches and media in 2023 and 2024, and led the Nittany Lions to the Orange Bowl last season
