TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — There is some good news for Tampa homebuyers. Redfin reported that Tampa was one of 11 cities where homebuying affordability is improving.

In Tampa, Redfin said the income required to afford a median-priced home is $97,463, a 2.1% drop from last year.

The real estate company said homes in the Sun Belt "exploded in popularity and price during the pandemic and are now seeing home prices come back down to Earth."

"Four of the 11 metros where the income needed to afford a home is falling are in Florida, which has also seen home prices drop amid soaring insurance and HOA costs, along with intensifying natural disasters," Redfin reported.
