Dickinson, N.D. — A grocery delivery turned violent Tuesday evening when a 19-year-old Dickinson man allegedly shot a delivery driver in the face with a BB gun. The incident occurred just after 4:30 p.m. in the 900 block of 3rd Avenue East, according to a Dickinson Police Department press release.

Police say the driver had just arrived to deliver groceries when Curry Lomanot McCarty Jr. approached and said he could take the order. The driver, suspicious of the interaction, refused. An argument followed. According to witness accounts, McCarty went back inside the residence, retrieved what appeared to be a BB gun and fired at the driver, striking him just below the left eye.
