GREENVILLE, N.C. (WTAJ) - West Suburban's sensational run continues in the Little League Softball World Series. In the quarterfinals on Thursday, the 12U team defeated the Southwest regional champion, 1-0.
West Suburban scored the game's only run in the bottom of the fifth inning. With two outs and West Suburban's Nevaeh Worthington standing on third base, Mallory Bailor hit it to first base, where Southwest couldn't handle it cleanly. Worthington crossed home plate, while Bailor reached first safely.
West Suburban rode yet another strong pitching performance by Reagan Bills, who has thrown back-to-back complete game shutouts. In the tournament, Bills has only allowed one earned run, while striking out 36 batters.
West Suburban will play in the semifinals on Saturday on ESPN2. The team'
