WHITESIDE Co., Ill. (KWQC) - A man has been charged after police said he fired a gun at a juvenile’s car and ran from officers.

Bashkim Rockwell, 38, of Sterling, is charged with:

Aggravated discharge of a firearm

Aggravated fleeing and eluding police

Fleeing and eluding police

Speeding 35 mph or more above the speed limit

Around 12:58 a.m. on July 25, Mount Prospect police said Rockwell pulled up to a car of 4 juveniles at a McDonald’s drive-thru and fired a gun.

After the shooting, Mount Prospect police initiated a pursuit, but it was ultimately cancelled due to safety concerns, police said.

On July 31, Whiteside County deputies found Rockwell in Sterling and arrested him, Whiteside County Sheriff John F. Booker said.
