MARION, Ill. (WSIL) -- The Marion CUSD #2 School District expressed gratitude for community support following the recent EF-4 tornado which affected local families.

Superintendent Becky Moss conveyed appreciation to those who helped provide relief to the 53 families impacted by the storm.

"Thanks to your incredible generosity and kindness, we were able to provide direct relief to all 53 families in our district impacted by the storm," Becky said in a release.

Moss said each affected family received a $367 check to aid in recovery efforts. Remaining gift cards were also distributed across the district's seven school buildings to further assist families in need.
