(KRON) — The Walnut Creek Police Department received a 911 call for a rattlesnake found in a kitchen cabinet on Aug. 2.

“We have a rattlesnake in our kitchen,” the caller told 911.

Officers responded to the Walnut Creek home shortly before 11 p.m. Bodycam footage of the response shows officer Brandon Lengkeek trap the snake using a nonstick soup pot.

“Got ’em!” Walnut Creek PD wrote on social media. “... Lengeek channeled his inner Irwin, braved this mighty beast, and safely released it back into the wild. Sssmooth work, officer Lengkeek.”
