(KRON) — A pedestrian was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash near the intersection of Travis Boulevard and Phoenix Avenue in Fairfield on Aug. 5, according to the Fairfield Police Department.

Fairfield PD responded to the scene around 7:20 p.m. and found the victim suffering from a serious head injury. The victim was taken to the hospital.

“Quick-thinking witnesses were able to provide officers with a description of the suspect vehicle and the license plate,” Fairfield PD said.

Officers responded to the suspected driver’s home and made an arrest. Police took 21-year-old Kaleb Pelekeilisaia into custody without incident.
