(KRON) -- A 19-year-old San Mateo woman is under arrest following a Friday evening crash that killed a 4-year-old boy and injured a 6-year-old girl, said the Burlingame Police Department.

BDP said officers arrived at 6:25 p.m. to investigate the crash scene in front of a restaurant in the 1200 block of Donnelly Avenue.

"Upon arrival, officers confirmed that two juveniles had been struck by a vehicle on the sidewalk in front of a business," said Burlingame police in a news release. "A 6-year-old female juvenile was transported to Stanford Hospital for treatment. A 4-year-old male juvenile sustained major injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene."

Police said the driver remained at the location and is working with investigators.
