The Santa Fe River Commission and the Santa Fe Watershed Association are hosting a community cleanup and weeding day Saturday starting at Louis Montano Park on Alto street east of St. Francis Drive.

"This is a wonderful opportunity to enjoy the beauty of the Santa Fe River corridor, meet your neighbors, and connect with the Santa Fe River Commission — all while making a tangible impact on our local environment," the city of Santa Fe said in a news release Thursday announcing the event.

The cleanup will be along the stretch of the Santa Fe River east of the St. Francis Bridge to the site of the former Closson Street footbridge from 8 a.m. to noon, the release said.
