WASHINGTON — DC Police are looking for a person who stole a tow truck in a carjacking Wednesday night.

According to a Metropolitan Police Department spokesperson, the carjacking happened around 8:40 p.m. Fourth District officers were called to the area of Kennedy Street and Missouri Avenue Northwest for a report of an armed carjacking. When officers got to the scene, the victim reported that they were approached by someone armed with a rock. The man proceeded to pull the driver out of the truck, get in and drive away.

Police are on the lookout for a Black Ram Alpha 4500 towing truck with DC tags. Police did not share a tag number. Police did not provide a distinct suspect description.
