JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WTAJ) -- A special meeting of Johnstown City Council concerning the Central Park redesign that was scheduled for Aug. 6 was canceled due to proper advertising procedures not being followed.

A legal notice appeared in The Tribune-Democrat, stating that the meeting was "for the purpose of discussing and taking action on the Central Park Improvements Bid and Construction Package." However, an agenda was not publicly posted on the city's official website or in any other way within 24 hours of the meeting, which is required by the Pennsylvania Sunshine Act.

Mayoral candidate John DeBartola and City Council candidate Charlene Stanton filed complaints about the oversight. The matter is now scheduled to be discussed at the council's regular monthly meeting next Wednesday.
