With the preseason opener less than 48 hours away, coach Brian Daboll and rookie first-round picks Abdul Carter and Jaxson Dart addressed the media.

Carter 'excited' for first game

Rookie outside linebacker Abdul Carter has stood out since taking the field for his very first practice back in rookie minicamp. The 21-year-old has shown off his tremendous athleticism and ability to bend the corner on almost every one of his reps. But doing it in practice against your own teammates and in a game against another opponent are two totally different things. Carter expressed his excitement about taking the field this weekend for his first NFL game, and as he noted, his first football game in general in exactly seven months.
