PORTSMOUTH, R.I. (WLNE) — The Portsmouth Police Department said that three men where arrested after a sting operation targeting sex traffickers.

28-year-old Ricardo Ramirez, of Bridgeport, Conn., was charged with electronically disseminating indecent material to a minor.

29-year-old Josue Gomez, of Acushnet, was charged with patronizing a minor for commercial sexual activity, indecent solicitation of a minor, and procurement of sexual conduct for a fee.

37-year-old Connor MacLeod, of Newport, was charged with procurement of sexual conduct for a fee and contributing to the delinquency of a minor.

In June officers in Rhode Island and Connecticut posed as a minor on a website and started talking to the three men.

Officials said both Gomez and MacLeod set up meetings for what they thought
