KENTUCKY (WFIE) - Gov. Andy Beshear is putting resources into making sure Kentuckians don’t fall victim to scammers.

The state launched the website stopscams.ky.gov in hopes of keeping residents safe from scams.

State leaders say this website builds on their work towards preventing scams through awareness, reporting and education.

“Scams are mean and cruel, and they cost Kentuckians of all ages their hard-earned savings that should be going toward rent, groceries, retirement and more,” said Gov. Beshear.

Beshear says although they’ve made progress in preventing scams, a 2024 FBI report showed Kentuckians are losing more than $74 million each year to online scammers.
