FOLEY, Ala. (WKRG) — The City of Foley is making improvements to a new parking lot that they just purchased earlier this year.

According to a city news release, during a city council meeting, they voted to accept a contribution from Riviera and Energy Southeast Inc. to help improve the Dyas parking lot, which is near Alabama 59 and U.S. 98.

This project will benefit businesses downtown by providing better and easier parking for customers, visitors, and employees.

“These grants have been used in the past for various economic development city projects,” Mayor Ralph Hellmich said. “It's been used for economic improvements and other things. Riviera gives these grants each year and we put them to use around the city.”
