CLARKSBURG, W.Va. (WV News) — Clarksburg bank robber Chantal Larue Skinner was sentenced to 10 years in prison Thursday for the June 11, 2024, robbery of the MVB Bank in downtown Clarksburg.
Skinner will have to at least serve a full 10 years, minus seven days she served pending prosecution. She can discharge the actual bank robbery indeterminate sentence of 10 to 20 years at the halfway point through maximum good behavior credit.
Judge D. Andrew McMunn said he had given home incarceration "some thought," but "to grant an alternative sentence would undermine the seriousness of this offense."
He added, "as you indicated, Ms. Skinner, this was an act that caused fear in those who were subjected to your demand, and actually, it causes fear in the community when you have someone robbing a b
