MANHATTAN, N.Y. (PIX11) -- A 21-year-old man was arrested in connection with a stabbing inside a Manhattan subway station on Tuesday evening, according to the NYPD.

The incident happened around 6:30 p.m. at the 23rd Street subway station.

Police say the woman was on the stairs when she was stabbed by an unknown man. She was taken to Bellevue Hospital in stable condition.

Police charged Carlos Rivera, 21, with attempted murder, assault with intent to cause severe injury, assault with intent to disfigure, and assault with intent to cause physical harm.
