LOCKPORT, N.Y. — A man being held at the Niagara County Correctional Facility is facing charges after he allegedly threw a liquid, presumed to be urine, at a correctional officer.
Kevin Spellman, 39, has been charged with one felony count of aggravated harassment of an employee by an inmate. The incident happened around 11:50 a.m. Sunday in the Town of Lockport, according to the Niagara County Sheriff's Office .
"The liquid struck the Officer in the head, neck, and chest area," the sheriff's office said Thursday in a statement.
Spellman is scheduled to appear Aug. 29 in Lockport Town Court. A search of the New York State electric court filing system on Thursday did not show any further information on the charges filed or future court dates for Spellman.
