MONTPELIER — Gov. Phil Scott defended his administration’s compliance with a request from the federal government to turn over the personal data of food benefit recipients.
Earlier this week, the Scott administration stated it had complied with a request from the United States Department of Agriculture to turn over the personal data of Vermonters who’d received Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program benefits going back to 2020. Vermont had until July 30 to comply with the request, which had been prompted by an executive order signed by President Donald Trump.
