PRINCE GEORGE’S COUNTY, Md. (DC News Now) — A nonprofit organization has hit the ground running as it tries to give back to the DMV community, bridging the gap between car enthusiasts, car lovers and those in need.
Torian Richardson, president of the DMV Auto Alliance, said his inspiration to start the organization stemmed from a common misperception about the car community.
"People were attacking the cops, stomping on cop cars that showed up to stop the meets, it was just chaos, and unfortunately, that caused the general public to get upset," Richardson said. "This led to politicians writing laws to prevent these incidents, but that impacted people like us who are trying to create change."
Richardson started this organization with a few friends within the car community, aiming to chang
