STEUBEN COUNTY, Ind. (WANE) -- The Department of Justice has sentenced a man from Litchfield, Michigan, to five years in prison.

Arvil W. Bryant Jr. was sentenced Thursday after pleading guilty to being a felon in possession of a firearm.

In May of 2024, the 32-year-old was traveling through Fremont, in Steuben County, on a motorcycle when he was apprehended for a warrant out of Michigan. According to court documents, while he and his motorcycle were being searched, Bryant was found with a gun that was reported stolen. Since he was a convicted felon, he was prohibited from owning a firearm.

Upon further searching, the officer found an "improvised explosive device" that was attached to the handlebars of the motorcycle. State and local bomb squads were called to the scene to dismantle and
