(WJET/WFXP)-- Another sample of mosquitoes collected in Erie County has tested positive for West Nile Virus, according to the Erie County Department of Health.

This time, the positive mosquitoes were found in the City of Erie on July 30 and mark the ninth sample collected to test positive this year after two more cases in local mosquitoes were reported Wednesday.

The health department said more monitoring will be done in the areas the positive mosquitoes were found, along with any appropriate control work.

So far, no human cases have been reported by the Erie County Department of Health in 2025.
