Duchesne County has joined the counties in the state that have reported a mosquito pool positive for West Nile Virus. As of the latest report dated August 2nd, the Utah Department of Health and Human Services reports 1 positive pool in Duchesne County and 6 in Uintah County. The first positive pool was identified in Utah on July 3rd in Utah County. Thankfully, there are still no reported human cases or horse cases. The Utah Department of Health will update their report weekly until the West Nile Virus season is considered over sometime in the fall. The Utah Department of Health and Human Services encourages the public to take precautions to protect against West Nile Virus. Limit outdoor activities from dusk to dawn, when mosquitoes are most active, and use insect repellent. Wear long pants
