GRAY COUNTY, Texas (KFDA) - Ruben makes a stop in McLean where he visits the Devil’s Rope Barbed Wire Museum and learns how they are bringing tourists to town.

Michael Oldham, president of Devil’s Rope Barbwire Museum, says his stepdad Delbert True was a tool collector back in the 80s. He says his father met with other tool collectors, but mainly barbed wire collectors.

Oldham says there’s a large museum in Kansas that had barbed wire and some other smaller ones, but that’s about it.

“So they were wanting to put some of their extra collections and everything in another museum, and dad knew about this building here in McLean,” said Oldham.

Oldham says the collectors started donating their items and extra wires, and the collection just grew.
