ICE agents arrested a person in the South Bay on Wednesday near an elementary school in Chula Vista.
ICE officials said they arrested a woman near Enrique S. Camarena Elementary School, stemming from a deportation order in 2022.
“The school was not involved in the incident, and there was no impact on students, staff, or the school premises. We remain steadfast in our commitment to ensuring the safety and security of our communities," said Patrick Divver, the field office director of ICE's Enforcement and Removal Operations in San Diego.
The Chula Vista Elementary School District released a statement to parents, saying the arrest happened off campus during morning drop-off.
