STATEN ISLAND, N.Y. — For ShackBurger and mushroom burger fans, the East Shore makes ‘shroom for one more. Shake Shack is set to open its third Staten Island location this fall at 2530 Hylan Blvd. in New Dorp, formerly home to Five Below and other retailers.

A contractor working on-site said construction is expected to wrap up by Sept. 30, keeping the fall opening on track.

The burger chain is joining an increasingly food-focused Hylan Commons retail hub that has become home to several notable eateries. The New Dorp shopping complex already features an Aldi supermarket, the borough’s first Starbucks, Vietnamese restaurant Pho Today which opened earlier this summer, and a forthcoming revolving sushi bar and bubble tea concept called Makoto.
