A Calgary woman is facing charges after allegedly spitting and then making racist remarks towards staff members at a liquor store last week.

Police say the incident happened at the Canadian Liquor store near Shawnessy Drive SW and Shawnessy Blvd SW around 5 p.m. on Friday.

It is alleged a woman entered the store and started verbally harassing staff and customers. The woman then asked the cashier personal question, spat at her, and made “racially charged remarks,” according to police.

Two customers called 911 after seeing the interaction with the cashier.

Investigators spoke to witnesses and reviewed security footage, and officers arrested a woman on Saturday in connection with the incident.
