WASHINGTON — D.C. could be seeing an increase in law enforcement presence as part of President Donald Trump's push to crack down on crime . The president said he is considering bringing in the National Guard , as well as a federal takeover of the DC Police department.
DC Police’s crime data shows violent crime in the city is down 26% year to date, with 99 murders so far this year; that's a 12% decrease from last year's homicide rate. But on Thursday, D.C.’s U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro said more needs to be done to reduce youth crime.
"I know that there is an effort to increase law enforcement, based upon what we've seen,” Pirro said.
