WASHINGTON, D.C. - The Environmental Protection Agency is considering revoking guidelines that could significantly impact climate protections in the United States.
On July 29, the EPA proposed rescinding the 2009 endangerment finding, a scientific discovery that greenhouse gas levels in the atmosphere threaten public health. The finding allowed greenhouse gas emissions to be regulated under the Clean Air Act.
"Not only is this not in line with the science, and not following the rulings of the Supreme Court, it's not in line with public opinion either," said Brian Henning, director of the Gonzaga Climate Institute.
