PASCO, Wash.- Effective on August 10, Mayor Peter Sarrano will resign as Pasco Mayor and councilmember to serve as Interim U.S. Attorney for Eastern Washington, according to the City of Pasco Communications Team.

The City Council will have 90 days to appoint a new member to fill the District 4 seat. City Council will complete another appointment process for the new term in January 2026, that will serve until Dec. 31, 2028. Serrano’s current term is set to expire on Dec. 31, 2025.

A new mayor will be selected to serve until Dec. 31, 2025. Mayor Pro-Tem Mil will serve in Mayor capacity until then. The newly seated City Councilmembers will vote again for the next Mayor and Mayor Pro-Term in January 2026.
