BELTON, Texas — A military family is helping children of the devastating Texas floods through their non-profit GTC United , based in Belton.

They're collecting toys and other items after seeing first hand the destruction left behind.

"It takes a community to help a community. I'm a firm believer in that," said GTC United Founder Britnia Weicht.

Britnia and her husband 1st Sgt. Robert Weicht started a non-profit to give back after the Temple tornado in 2024. They answered the call to help Sandy Creek in Northwest Travis County.

"For Sandy Creek, they had a lot of devastation. There are two creeks that join to one and Windy Valley got most of the damage but the surrounding area got significant damage as well. Everything on Windy Valley is pretty much completely gone," said Britnia.
