COLLEGE STATION, Texas (KBTX) - Music blared from speakers as Texas A&M’s football team took the field for practice last season. They were greeted by two individuals who had traded their day jobs for new roles as team DJs and personal hype team.
Aggie running back Rueben Owens II and offensive lineman Mark Nabou Jr. both suffered season-ending injuries in the infancy of the season last year. However, they didn’t let their relegation to the sidelines keep them fully sidelined.
“We were actually in the training room down there,” Nabou said Wednesday after A&M’s practice. “When they were done warming up, they used to come down, and me and [Owens] used to connect to the speaker and start dancing, you know, trying to hype the team up.”
