WACO, Texas (KXXV) — As a new school year begins, Texas is implementing measures to help certify more teachers for classrooms through House Bill 2.

"If we have teachers who are well prepared, well supported, well compensated, they are going to drive student success across Texas," Jessica McLoughlin with the Texas Education Agency (TEA) said.

McLoughlin told 25 News that Texas House Bill 2 is helping address some of the challenges in supporting, retaining and certifying teachers.
