HARDEEVILLE, SC (WTOC) - Two people have been arrested in Hardeeville for trafficking fentanyl after a fentanyl-induced homicide investigation that began in July 2025.
According to a media release from the Hardeeville Police Department, the investigation was focused on the sale of counterfeit prescription pills containing fentanyl located in the Hardeeville area.
The distribution of these pills is believed to have resulted in at least one fatal overdose, according to the police.
Over the course of the investigation “undercover purchases of suspected fentanyl were made,” which resulted in a search warrant being issued for the home of Marquis Alexander Webber, who had been identified as a primary suspect in this fentanyl distribution.
