BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (WIAT) — Following the cancellation of an upcoming comedy performance in Birmingham, actor Michael Rapaport visited Chabad of Alabama Thursday.

Rapaport, an actor known for his appearances in films like "Cop Land," "Deep Blue Sea" and "True Romance" who has become a more well known for his podcast appearances in recent years, visited the center Thursday at the invitation of the Birmingham Jewish Federation.

Rapaport, who is Jewish, has been in Alabama shooting a film and was scheduled to perform a set at the Comedy Stardome in Hoover Tuesday. However, his appearance was cancelled, something Rapaport attributed to backlash over his support of Israel in the wake of the ongoing war with Hamas in Gaza.
