SHREVEPORT, La. -- A driver who was going the wrong way on a Shreveport highway early Saturday morning and crashed into another vehicle has been arrested in connection with the death of a man in the second vehicle.

Joshua Cochran has been charged with vehicular homicide and first-degree vehicular negligent injury.

The crash happened around 4:43 a.m. on state Highway 3121 directly beneath Interstate 49.

Police said Cochran was driving a Jeep Gladiator westbound in the eastbound lanes when he hit a Ford F-250. The force of the impact sheared off the driver's side of the Ford and caused the Jeep to roll on its side and catch on fire.
