LAUREL COUNTY, Ky. (WYMT) - First responders in Laurel County now have access to free mental health services, thanks to a new initiative led by a local nurse practitioner and a team of behavioral health professionals.
The program, launched by Rosie Ebertshauser, a family nurse practitioner and owner of His Hands Family Care , offers confidential wellness check-ins and monthly peer support groups to first responders across the county. The initiative is a partnership between His Hands Family Care and Second Mile Behavioral Health.
“We’ve encountered so much... you just become kind of emotionless,” Ebertshauser said. “We want to be there to keep you from coming to that point.”
