LAS VEGAS (KLAS) -- A 23-year-old who killed a veteran in what records show was his fifth DUI has agreed to serve at least three years in prison, the 8 News Now Investigators have learned.

Las Vegas Metro police arrested Alfredo Jauregui on Oct. 5 on charges of DUI resulting in death, records said. Jauregui, who does not have a driver’s license, killed George Brown, 48, as Brown was in the road on Marion Drive near Nellis Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue.

The 8 News Now Investigators found Jauregui’s fifth DUI arrest happened as prosecutors awaited blood results in his fourth -- an arrest from May. The delay impaired judges’ abilities to restrict or jail him, the investigation found.
