LANSING, Mich. (WLNS) — The Michigan Department of Attorney General has launched "Operation Robocall Roundup," a multistate effort to crack down on robocalls nationwide, according to a statement released Thursday.

Michigan Attorney General Dana Nessel reports that she and 50 other attorneys general are sending warning letters to 37 telecom companies, demanding that they stop "illegal robocalls being routed through their networks."

“Operation Robocall Roundup will help ensure voice service providers do their part to stop illegal robocalls,” Nessel said in a news release sent to 6 News. “I look forward to continuing to work with the Anti-Robocall Litigation Task Force to protect people from these persistent and intrusive calls.”
