It was a warm day in the city for the 2025 Chicago Ducky Derby in support of Special Olympics Illinois programming. Spectators crowded along the riverfront walk and bridges for a glimpse of that signature moment of the event, when more than 82,600 ducks are dumped into the Chicago River in a race to the finish.
Duck adopters are in the running for prizes, like this year's grand prize of a Chevy Trailblazer from Your Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana Chevy Dealers.
And this year, WGN Radio was a proud media sponsor of the event and we raised the stakes...ahem, ducks...with a friendly feathered competition between Bob Sirott, John Williams, Lisa Dent to see whose team could get the most ducks. It was a close race, but in the end, King John ruled the duck pond, followed by Bob Sirott and Li
