DENVER (KDVR) — The late summer heat wave continues for one more day Friday, before the Denver weather forecast features cooler weather for the weekend, which may also bring a chance for some showers or storms. Denver tied the record high Thursday afternoon with a reading of 99 degrees at Denver International Airport.
Weather tonight: Another warm night
Temperatures will be slow to cool down overnight Thursday, with area lows dipping only into the middle and upper 60s across most of eastern Colorado. Some towns may only get as cool as 70 degrees. It will be a bit more comfortable in the high country. Winds overnight will gust to around 20 miles per hour from the southwest. Denver's record warm low for Aug. 8 is 72 degrees, set in 1881 — temps may come close to tying it.
