DENVER (KDVR) — Video obtained by FOX31 shows that the rail safety arms for the crossing near Smith and Sable may not have been engaged before a semitrailer crossed the railway and was hit by the train.
The video shows the moments when a commuter rail train and a semitrailer collided at about 9:20 a.m. on Monday. The Regional Transportation District's A Line commuter rail had collided with the semitrailer as the truck crossed the railroad near the intersection of Smith Road and Sable Boulevard.
In the moments leading to the crash, it appears that the rail safety arm had not been deployed and only fell into place after the train and truck collided.
