LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - Nebraska Congressman Mike Flood will have a Democratic challenger in the race for District 1 in the 2026 general election.

Nebraska Democratic Party Chair Jane Kleeb posted details Wednesday on X about a campaign kickoff event next week for political newcomer Eric Moyer.

According to his official campaign website , Moyer is an actor, marketer and property developer based in Lincoln. He graduated from the University of Nebraska–Lincoln’s College of Fine and Performing Arts and remains active in the city’s theatre community.

Moyer was born and raised in the small town of Madison in northeast Nebraska. He holds multiple degrees from the University of Nebraska, including a Bachelor of Arts in Theater and a Master’s in Marketing, Communication and Advertising.
