FENTRESS COUNTY, Tenn. (WBIR, NBC) – If shopping is on your to-do list, here’s where you can find miles of deals.

It’s the world’s longest yard sale.

It runs all along Highway 127 from Michigan to Alabama – that’s a total of 700 miles.

It started in 1987 and originally was just in Tennessee and Kentucky, but over the years, it grew to the 700 miles it now covers.

It’s a big boost to local economies, generating millions of dollars of revenue every year.

Jacob Rosenbaum, Fentress County Chamber of Commerce executive director, says, “People around here are very much into collecting antiques, cast iron, furniture, uh, so it gives a lot of local people an opportunity to sell some of that stuff for a good price, but, I mean, uniquely speaking, you can find a lot of stuff here that you can’t
