Greenwood’s police chief says his detectives are “hyper-focused” on solving the homicides of a pregnant woman and her son.

The investigation into the deaths of 33-year-old Karon J. Clay, who was pregnant in her third trimester, and her son, 3-year-old Karter K. Clay, has been ongoing since their bodies were found inside a home on the 600 block of Greenway Street at 10:17 a.m. Monday, following a welfare check. This is inside The Villages at Grassy Creek subdivision, east of U.S. 31 and between Stop 18 and Smith Valley roads.
