LAS VEGAS ( FOX5 ) — After weeks of uncertainty and fear tied to immigration enforcement, vendors at Broadacres Marketplace are now being offered tools to protect themselves, like Thursday’s “Know Your Rights” training.

Inside Broadacres marketplace, the message is now empowerment through education.

“We’re happy to be at Broadacres this morning doing rights trainings with vendors,” said executive director of the ACLU of Nevada, Athar Haseebullah.

After shutting down in June amid immigration fears, Broadacres Marketplace is now taking steps to protect its vendors – by educating them.

“We want everybody to know what their rights are so they can be protected in the event the federal government continues to try to come in and destabilize our community,” Haseebullah said.
