There's a potential for strong winds, heavy rain and hail, especially between Airdrie and Calgary
Weather in Alberta will be turbulent over the next 24 hours, with thunderstorms circulating around Calgary, as well as possible funnel clouds in central areas of the province.
Environment and Climate Change Canada issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Calgary at 3:24 p.m., with potential for strong winds, heavy rain and up to nickel-size hail. The storm is forming over northern areas of the city and is “nearly stationary,” says the alert.

A severe thunderstorm watch is also out for the Airdrie area, where very strong wind gusts and up to toonie-size hail is expected. There were reports on social media of hail falling in Airdrie at about 3:30 p.m.
