LOUISVILLE, Ky. — Sen. Mitch McConnell and Donald Trump have been at odds more than once during the President's second term, but McConnell praised him Thursday during a stop in Louisville.
McConnell (R-Kentucky) said Trump "may be figuring this out," and pointed to recent policy decisions related to Iran and Ukraine.
"Dropping the bomb on Iran was the right thing to do," McConnell said while speaking at the Pendennis Club. "We left at least one of those facilities in a pile of rocks. That's a good way to send a message. And number two, he's re-engaged trying to help Ukraine."
McConnell has been a large proponent of aiding Ukraine in its war against Russia since the conflict began in February 2022. The Trump Administration appeared less inclined to take sides, but Trump has given signs r
